Onda Sideboard | ETEL
The complex and delicate curves that create the face of the Onda Sideboard’s drawers are the most striking features of this piece and make one think of waves in the sea. The sideboard – that can be built in different sizes – gains added elegance with the dark coloration of the American walnut wood.
Though the sideboard’s size may vary, each module is 90 cm, with two lines of drawers supporting the sheets of wood, pressed together into molds created using a 1:1-scale design. The woodworking process takes approximately one month, seeking to reproduce the curves of the design with all the precision and subtlety that they call for.
The interplay of light and shadow is enhanced by the undulating forms that flow outward from the drawers, creating a swaying sensation that recalls the movement of the ocean.
