Onda Sideboard
Originally created for an apartment in Ipanema, the idea was to translate the rhythm and shapes of the waves into fluid strokes, sculpting the wood in a painstaking artisanal process.
Though the sideboard’s size may vary, each module is 90 cm, with two lines of drawers supporting the sheets of wood, pressed together into molds created using a 1:1-scale design. The woodworking process takes approximately one month, seeking to reproduce the curves of the design with all the precision and subtlety that they call for.
The interplay of light and shadow is enhanced by the undulating forms that flow outward from the drawers, creating a swaying sensation that recalls the movement of the ocean.
