The idea of designing a set of utensils and accessories as an extension of the Studio’s work drove the creation of this line, the second to be developed for the Brazilian brand Riva. The use of wood seeks to strike up a dialogue with the language of our projects, with product development continuing and complementing our architectural work.

As a counterpoint to the cold rigidity of metal, and simultaneously underscoring its shine, wood in natural hues provides a pleasant texture that does not conduct heat. The format, meanwhile, designed for ergonomic ease in handling (with the weight of each piece taken into account), is marked by a fluid union between raw and polished materials.

These characteristics lend personality to the utensils and enrich their use and function, altering one’s relationship to the food at hand, just as the right glass can transform the taste of a wine.
