Intro
Arthur Casas is graduated Architect at Mackenzie University of São Paulo in 1983; he’s an architect of interiors and constructions, developing residential and commercial projects through very characteristic forms.

Prizes
Since the beginning of his carrier, Casas started to win prizes, such as Design Prize from Casa Brasileira Museum in 1989, A&D magazine 1st Prize in 1994, Deca Prize (Bathroom project) in 1997; and Espaço D magazine 1st and 2nd Prizes (Interior design, Commercial ambiences and Houses and Apartments Categories) almost every year form 1998 to 2006.

Also in 2000, he won the 1st Prize for Best City Hotel (USA). In 2004, Casas received Honor Prizes at the 3rd Architecture Cauê Prize and at the IAB Institute Prize with Ornare Store Project.

In 2006, he received the 1st Prize under Furniture Category at “Casa Brasileira Museum”, Deca Prize for “A dream of bathroom”, 1st place under Residential Category. Winning the 20th place at the Hall of Fame Prize, USA.

In 2008, Arthur Casa has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award, in Germany, by developing a creative cutlery and dinner set lines for Riva Company, and 1st place residential beach category at “The best of Architectural” prize.

In 2009, his work was number 1 people’s choice at “AIA/LA’s 5th annual Restaurant Design Awards” prize.

In 2010, KAA Restaurant won the Design Award 2010 of Wallpaper magazine, 1st place at Best New Restaurant category.

Casa Cor
Earlier in his carrier, Casas used to participate of Casa Cor Exhibition, almost every year non-stop from 1989 to 2003.

Afterwards, he decided to focus his work through other aspects that his profession enables to be reached, becoming a more connected architect to the environment and sustainable thinking.

Thinking Green, even more connected with the environment, he created a refuge, a place to rest at Casa Cor 2009.

Biennials
Arthur Casas has participated of two Biennials of Architecture in São Paulo in 1997 and 2003 and at the Buenos Aires Biennial in 2003, 2005 and 2007. In 2009, was honored with the Award XII International Architecture Biennale BA09.

Exhibitions
He has participated of many exhibitions, such as itinerant exhibition “Rasna Etrusca”, in Europe and USA in 1989; “Iron and Fire” (Ferro e Fogo) Montessanti Gallery and “Group show Casa Cor” in 1990.

Also of “Brazilian Chairs”, Casa Brasileira Museum, in 1994; of D&D exhibition, 1995, of “Brazil makes design” (Brasil faz Design) at Casa Brasileira Museum, in 1998 and 2000; of Deca Showcase and of Furniture Fair of Milan, in 1998.

“Design Natureza” in 1999 and of the “500 Years of Brazilian Design” (500 Anos de design no Brasil) at Pinacoteca in São Paulo, in 2001.

Workshops
From 2004 on, Casas’s been frequently invited to talk about his production in workshops throughout the world. Some of them are: Diego Portales University, Chile; 6th and 11th Architecture Biennials of Buenos Aires; 2nd National Forum of Architecture, Bahia; “Arthur Casas and his relationship with São Paulo” (AC e sua relação com São Paulo), Belém; Design History, 1850 – 1970, Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, Brasilia.

Borges Cultural Center; Designweek Monterrey, Mexico – CEDIM, School of Design, Architecture and Arts; and Arc Interiors Seminar Program – Doral Resort and Spa, Miami.

Book
In 2007, Casas has launched a book about his works, points of view and relationship with the city of São Paulo, which is successfully in the market at its second edition.
